Every fall, hundreds of millions of monarch butterflies migrate from the United States and Canada to Mexico and California where they winter and then return again in the spring.  Monarch Waystations provide the milkweeds throughout spring and summer to sustain the butterflies during breeding during their long journey.  These milkweeds and other nectar sources are declining due to the use of pesticides.

Because of the loss of milkweed and other nectar sources, we need to help preserve the monarch butterfly by providing these Monarch Waystations in home gardens, at schools, businesses, parks, zoos, roadsides and other unused plots of land.

A few concerned St. Paul’s parishioners have begun a Monarch Waystation in a 112 sq foot area at one corner of the cemetery,  The goal is to be Certified and Registered by Monarch Watch as an official Monarch Waystation by September, 2019.
